Calculating hours for zero-hours employees
Overview
In FlowRota, employees assigned a zero working pattern (also known as zero-hours employees ) have their allowances calculated based on their actual worked and paid time, rather than a fixed schedule.
These allowances are determined from the average minutes per day worked across the reference period set in the Admin panel
The calculation includes all time classed as payable:
- Paid absences (such as sick leave or paid time off);
- Paid shifts and approved overtime;
- Paid leave (for example, holidays taken).
This ensures zero-hours employees receive fair and accurate allowance calculations that reflect their recent working patterns, even when hours vary week to week.
